It’s Friday! Yipeee!
Hoping not to spend this Saturday night at the office like I did last week. Always more work to do than time to do it. And yet, I’m blogging. I know. Seems pretty nonsensical. But, all work and no play makes Brooke a very dull (and grumpy) girl.
Isn’t this what everyone’s “gym bag” looks like?! Mine includes about 3 skeins of yarn and a small case of crochet and knitting needles. A girl has got to multitask!
It’s Spring Break this week for my kids. We didn’t plan anything except for a trip to the Brookfield Zoo with some friends. 10 kids, 3 mommies – WOW. (My little guy never even noticed he was the only boy there.)
The 3 mommies (I’m on the far right) in front of the fountain (which you can’t see, of course, because one of the kids took the photo).
This was the most entertaining part of the zoo.
I feel guilty admitting it, but I actually find going to the zoo with the kids to be quite boring. You contrast the amount of time you spend corralling them, feeding them (not to mention the time to prepare the food ahead of time at home), taking them to the bathroom and telling them “no” every time they ask for something (toy, popsicle, etc…) to the time and number of animals you see, and it’s rather surprising. Then half the time, the animals are sleeping or are not visible. I know, I’m a total “glass half empty” girl, but seriously, what a looooonnnnng day. The weather was absolutely beautiful though, so that made it worthwhile – 55 ish and sunny. PERFECT in my book.
Link up and join the party!
Happy weekend!
