Favor Bag & Washi Tape Clothespin Garland

Our party in the park didn’t need a lot of decoration, but I did want something to make it seem a little more festive. A paper punch, favor bags, clothespins and washi tape–all I needed for a quick coordinating garland. And, I mean quick–we’re talking maybe 10 minutes.

I started out by punching scalloped circles–enough to spell out “happy birthday”. I adhered these to the bags with a glue stick, stacked them and packed them up!

My favorite part was the clothespins as they were totally spontaneous. I had the washi tape (paper tape) from Target just waiting to be used. I tore strips the length of the clothespin and stuck it right on. Done.

When I got to the park, I strung twine across the bridge of the playground and pinned the bags right on.

It may not be super fancy or polished, but I think it was appropriate and added just enough to make things feel more like a party.
